IT News: Instagram could do without bad press at the moment at a time when they should be shining as part of their growth plan. As it is the image they’re presenting isn’t a spectacular one and not least due to the current issues with Twitter.
The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) recently released a press release which highlights concerns over privacy issues surrounding smart meters – something we may all be facing over the next few years.

If you’ve had enough of Social Networking and want to completely remove yourself from the various service networks what can you do? You could trawl through the various social networking sites manually removing your images, posts, walls, tweets, and such but how long is that going to take and can you be sure you’ve got everything? Will the social networking provider remove your account upon your request? Shouldn’t it be a lot easier to regain your privacy online?
If you have concerns over privacy of your personal data on a shared computer you might first consider simply marking the folder has hidden – where your files are stored, however this isn’t a particularly useful scenario as it’s easy to get around. In larger installations you might be able to set user permissions, but again your files are still accessible by Administrators.
Have you checked your Google Dashboard yet? This is not the iGoogle dashboard with widgets but the Google Dashboard which tells you what information Google has about each of your Google related accounts.
