Rumours are starting to circulate, in the technology news, that Microsoft may be developing a version of Office for the Apple iPad. However, it looks as if Google may have pre-empted the idea. Google have recently announced a free version of Quickoffice for editing Word, and Excel and Powerpoint documents. Don’t get too excited just yet – Google are keen to stress this free version is only available to paying customers.
According to reports in the IT News Microsoft Office, in some form, is already available for Mac OS X so it wouldn’t take a big leap to transition the popular Office applications of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint across to the iPad – and what a potential killer Enterprise proposition (and headache) that would make.
