Hard drives don’t last forever – it’s a fact of life. Many of them are measured using a MTTF rating which stands for Mean Time To Failure – or put another way – the average amount of time you’ll get to use them before they stop working. Don’t panic just yet though – as many hard drives go on for years reliably serving data as intended.
