Jawbone have released a firmware upgrade for its sexy little wireless speaker, Jambox, which brings it to version 2.2. The wireless speaker may be small but it has certainly got some oomph.

The latest version of the firmware includes support for an Android based companion application, a new silent mode which switches off everything except music, and a simpler mechanism for pairing over Bluetooth.

A really useful new consideration has been around power management and energy conservation which should help get more out of the built in battery.
