Review: Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Rechargeable Sonic Toothbrush
This review will take a look at the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean rechargeable sonic toothbrush (HX9342/04). The “DiamondClean” refers to the diamond-like shape of the bristles on the brush head and the HX9342 is Philips latest and, as they say, “most advanced Sonicare toothbrush”. The most striking thing when opening the box for the Sonicare DiamondClean is the attention grabbing, and somewhat curious, mini USB oriented cable but we will get to that later together with the induction charging base which utilises a glass tumbler.
When it comes to toothbrushes there are really only three choices: manual brushing, oscillating/rotating and sonic (vibrating) and whilst sonic technology may sound like something Doctor Who may use as part of his daily dental hygiene routine it is one of the latest developments in tooth care. Instead of the typical scrubbing technique often applied to manual brushing sonic technology requires a slower, more gentle, action so that the the vibrating bristle head takes charge of the actual cleaning process.
