Review: Hoodie Buddie Is The Hoodie With Built-In Earphones
If you are not currently using wireless earphones, when on the move, you have probably already felt the frustration of dangling headphone cables which get in the way, sit uncomfortably, and can easily get tangled. All of these things can become a problem, when say out for a run, and this is where the Hoodie Buddie has something special to offer.
The Hoodie Buddie is a zip front hoodie with an added extra: built in earphones using HB3 technology. The particular Hoodie Buddie in this review is the AJ2468 zip front unisex hoodie which is constructed from 60% cotton and 40% polyester.
According to the HB3Technology website HB3 is a patent-pending technology that “allows headphones to be fully integrated into hooded garments”.
The earphones are built into the draw-string cord that typically pull together to close the hoodie whilst in the pocket, in the front of the hoodie, is a standard 3.5mm headphone jack which connects to a suitable MP3 player or smart phone.
Two sizes of headphone caps are included and you can buy more from the official Hoodie Buddie website.
The earphones work whether the hood on the hoodie is worn up, or down, whilst a small inside pocket allows the audio device to sit comfortably which should prevent it from falling out of the pocket.
In use the Hoodie Buddie is quite effective and the headphones are reasonable enough and one of the advantages, the manufacturer says, about the Hoodie Buddie is that the entire Hoodie (including the headphones) are machine washable (cold wash and the item should be line dried).
It would have been useful to see some inline controls for music playback however the Hoodie Buddie is a great solution to a frustrating problem.
The price of the Hoodie Buddie is around £39.99 (price checked 18th December 2011) and there are a wide range of colours and designs to choose from.
