Basic Setup

First off you need to attach the camera to the stand which is a bit fiddly, as it involves twisting the camera around the screw on the stand, but at least you only have to do it once. Next, connect the network cable (unfortunately not supplied) to the camera and to the router or network switch/hub, then connect the power adaptor. Once everything is connected the camera will power up and try and configure itself based on automatic settings (this could take a minute or two). That’s all there really is to it under typical circumstances – the next step will be to install the software from the setup CD.

NOTE! Attaching a cable in the network socket will automatically disable the wireless network.

During software installation you may need to install the decoder which is included on the setup CD after which you can select the Setup Camera option which attempts to detect the camera and walk you through the essential settings (name, date/time, network address).

Once installation is complete make a note of the IP address as that is what you will need to use to connect to the web based interface.
