Is This The Next Big Thing In Mobility?

LiveView PP 01 Facebook menu Is This The Next Big Thing In Mobility? I just received a communication saying that Sony Ericsson has announced a micro OLED display and remote called "LiveView" – it is a Bluetooth (2.1) gadget that can mirror what is on your supported mobile phone. It also has a handy clip so you can pop it on and carry it around in a sci-fi sort of way.

The sort of information it can handle are media playback, call information, watch display, text messages, rss feeds and calendar reminders. It’s dimensions are pretty small too at 3.5cm square and 1.1cm deep and the screen is a 1.3” colour OLED display with 128×128 pixels.

The addition of Bluetooth means you can leave your hefty mobile phone in your bag, pocket, or wherever you like to keep it but still stay up to date – especially as this can be worn as a watch.

What is really cool about this new gadget, and what could be its killer application, is that is is compatible with the open Android platform so third party developers can develop applications.

I hope to get my hands on one pretty soon for a closer look – in the meantime check out the video after the fold.

What do you mean it looks like an iPod Nano 6th Generation? Shame on you icon wink Is This The Next Big Thing In Mobility?

  1. It’s so small. I think I’d prefer to just take my mobile out of my pocket, but I guess I should take a closer look before judging it.
