One of the popular features of Facebook is the ability to “like” pages and “share” links – and the scammers have switched on to this very quickly, one of the latest scams is entitled “10 Things Adults Never Tell Their Kids” – just the sort of attention grabbing title that makes you want to read it?

This scam isn’t just isolated within Facebook either as the real trouble starts when you head out to the link which leads to a Blogspot Blog (which is also discoverable through a Google Search) – the article loads up initially and then a “Security Check” pops up asking you complete “ONE 30 second offer to Access the content.” – the offer is entitled “Buying Toys for Christmas?”

Trying to bypass the content gives the message “We are waiting for you to complete the survey” and as Sophos Security Consultant Graham Cluley tells us “the scammers earn commision for every survey completed. A nice little earner for them, and you’ve just increased their chances of making more cash by forwarding their link to others.”

The Blog only has one article dated 25th April 2010 so it’s clearly not updated – so be safe and approach these links with caution.
