CloudMade Gets Crowdsourcing Award
CloudMade, the platform and tools company serving consumers, has picked up an award for “Best Company Innovating with Crowdsourcing” at the recent Open 100 awards during the Open 4 Business Conference. The Open100 awards are powered by the UK’s National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts (NESTA).
“CloudMade was chosen because of its role in supporting the extremely effective crowdsourcing model in OpenStreetMap and leading it to a wider audience, through its social mapping tools and developer focused mapping platform,” said Roland Harwood, NESTA.
Winning the award is made even more impressive when you consider other nominees in the same category include well known names such as Flickr, Facebook, The Guardian, Layar, Twitter, wikiHow and Zopa.
You can experience CloudMade work by visiting Mapzen – an online community mapping tool which makes the process of contributing to the OpenStreetMap project easier and simpler.
