Tip: Always Add The Recipient Last
The beauty of email is that it’s so quick and convenient to fire off an email, as you tab through the fields on the send form, but how many times have you fired one off before it’s completely ready? An accidental key combination here, or a click in the wrong place there and off your muddled communication goes.
The race is on to see if you can get through to your helpdesk before the email leaves the building – oops too late.
Sure, you could try and use the “Recall this message” feature – but turn the tables for a moment and consider this – if you receive an email saying “Person X wants to recall this message” doesn’t that increase the chance of you actually reading it !?
A quick tip when formulating electronic mail is to always put the recipients in last (even though it’s often the first field in the send form). This way, if you do accidentally activate the send feature it won’t actually go anywhere.
Another thing to remember before you pop in the recipients and click send is to double-check that you included the appropriate attachment.
