Factory Reset A Nokia N95 8GB
In May 2008 I said hello to my, then, new Nokia N95 8GB, and in February 2010 I bid it a last final farewell – I’ve said goodbye to a lot of things in 2010 but life move’s on and sometimes you just have to move with it! The Nokia was a great phone that saw many other contenders come and go.
We managed to use one of those “post it in” recycling services to get a bit of cash back for the phone but one of the things we really needed to do first was remove all of our personal data from the phone.
The first thing was to reformat the mass storage, and once that was done, the next step was to perform a factory reset on the device.
To perform a factory reset you can type the following code into the phone #*7370# (incidentally, to perform a soft reset which doesn’t remove any of your files from the phone memory you can use the code #*7780#). The lock was needed to perform this action which, if you haven’t changed it from the default, is 12345.
