Convert Your PowerPoint Presentations To Video
Last year I wrote about a product from software company Acoolsoft called PPT2YouTube (see Convert PowerPoint to YouTube) which is a handy application utility for transferring PowerPoint based presentations to YouTube format.
Acoolsoft have recently launched a new product called PPT to Video, which we will be taking a look at today. Two versions of the product are available, a freeware version and a more fully featured Pro version.
PPT to Video can convert PowerPoint based presentations to video format, which makes it particularly useful for sharing presentations on mobile devices such as iPod, iPhone and Blackberry.
Produced videos can also be embedded on websites for maximum impact.

Getting started with the application is a simple case of clicking on the large “Create Video Files” icon within PPT to Video Free, then clicking Add on the next screen (up to 12 PowerPoint presentations can be processed at a time in the Pro version).
Once you have selected your PowerPoint presentation you just need to choose the output format. Fortunately, this is made easier by a pull down section in the Format tab. The preset choices include iPod, Creative Zen, BlackBerry, Nokia, Windows Mobile and Flash Video, amongst others (remember certain choices are only available in the Pro version).

Following this choose the predefined transition delay between slides and finalise any Advanced Settings such as any Margin Size, Margin Colour, Background Image, Logo Settings, Background Music, and whether to record the sounds from within your PowerPoint presentation (requires Acoolsoft sound recorder). The last setting simply specifies the output folder of your presentation.
A final message reminds you to save your final changes in PowerPoint, close other programs for best performance, and ensure you have at least Windows Media Player 9 installed. The process is automatic from this point onwards and a final summary screen is display with links to the output folder and the completed video.
The Pro version of PPT to Video adds a number of features over the Free version including additional video formats such as AVI, MP4, MPG, FLV, 3GP, SWF, and supports HD Video and Batch conversion tools.
The beauty of Acoolsoft applications is that each one is designed to serve just one purpose, and to make using the application as pain free as possible through the use of uncluttered screens, clear icons, and handy wizards to guide you through the process.
