Utility: Check Your Monitor For Dead Pixels

I have been getting a pixel related issue recently with my 19” monitor – it looks like one of the pixels may be stuck – which is unfortunate (as well as quite a bit irritating) as the monitor is no longer under warranty.

injured-pixels To check this I found a piece of software called InjuredPixels which simply fills the screen with a defined colour. The idea of filling the screen with a constant regular colour is that it allows you to instantly see if one of the pixels on your display is misbehaving – and sure enough one of my pixels is.

The application allows you to choose, or cycle, between the colours black, white, red, green, blue and a custom colour of your choosing; for checking hot, dead or stuck pixels.

InjuredPixels currently runs on Windows XP (with .Net Framework 2), Vista and Windows 7.

To learn more and download the application visit InjuredPixels.
