Nokia Partnering With TED 2010

TED 2010 www.jasonslater.co.uk The TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) Conference 2010 will be held this year from 9th to 13th February at Long Beach, California.

The TED Conference is an annual free-thinking and information sharing event aimed at gathering the world’s leading thinkers, movers and shakers together in one place and providing them, and us, with the opportunity to inspire and be inspired in all areas around technology, entertainment, and design.

TED 2010 www.jasonslater.co.uk This year TED is featuring a packed conference including speakers ranging from Bill Gates, Stephen Wolfram and Sarah Silverman to Sheryl Crow and our very own Jamie Oliver (yes, you read it right!) – who is receiving a special prize at the event.

Nokia partnered with TED in 2009 to provide a number of initiatives including the open translations project and to support the TED fellows programme. In 2010, Nokia are extending their participation by bringing in social media to broaden reach of the event further than before.

A number of Nokia supported initiatives at this years event will include:

  • An online social lounge called “The Hub” featuring an ideas fed data visualisation engine built by Nokia.
  • Providing the infrastructure and services for people all over the world to pitch their questions to TED speakers and fellows, including questions from Twitter.
  • A dedicated micro-site site opening up the real world experience to the online community.
  • Social Spaces to provide people with opportunity to connect and interact in new ways.
