Sony Ericsson Android Based Xperia X10 Coming Soon

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 www.jasonslater.co.uk The Android operating system is an exciting development in mobility and it seems to have penetrated the historically closed mobile operating systems market very quickly. It gets even more exciting when you hear the news that Sony Ericsson have combined their experience in mobile device technology with Android to bring something rather special to the crowded smart phone market.

In terms of specifications the X10 is a reasonable 135g but is really quite slim at just 13mm deep – it’s available in the traditional black but also in white. The screen is served by an unusual 4” 480×854 WVGA format TFT display. Phone memory is supported by 1GB onboard with an 8GB microSD card included for storage – which can be expanded to 16GB.

Sony Ericsson are pleased about their new user experience which helps you organise information better, and they are saying is more intuitive than ever:

  • Timescape manages all communication with one person and presents it in one place, be it photos, email, texts, Twitter, or Facebook.
  • Mediascape accesses media and entertainment content from everywhere – your phone, YouTube, PlayNow – and presents everything in a common place.
  • The all new “infinite button” guides you through the connected world, aggregating all your interactions with one person into just one view
  • Intelligent face recognition features faces in pictures (up to five per image), and automatically connects them into your unified experience.

Rikko Sakaguchi, EVP and Chief Creation Officer, Sony Ericsson said, “The XPERIA X10 is a fantastic example of our make.believe philosophy because we are pushing the boundaries of what is possible and demonstrating that anything consumers can imagine, we can make possible. With the X10, we are raising the bar we have set ourselves with entertainment-rich phones like Aino and Satio by making communication more fun and playful, multiplying and enriching opportunities to connect.
