Get More Control Of User Accounts In Windows 7
A hidden feature in Windows 7 is the “Advanced User Accounts” option which is available by clicking the Start button then typing netplwiz.exe into the “Search programs and files” input box.
This option shows the more traditional User Accounts dialog and adds the Advanced tab offers a number of additional controls for user passwords, such as requiring users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete prior to logging on, launching the local computer management users and groups, and managing passwords on the computer.
You can also enable this option under the “User Accounts and Family Safety” tab of Control Panel. If you head into Control Panel you will see the following options “User Accounts”, “Parental Controls”, “Windows CardSpace”, and “Credential Manager” – the fifth option is hidden from view. The video below, from PCWizKid’s Tech Talk walks through the process of enabling this option.
