The Nokia Booklet 3G is an early foray into the, becoming crowded, Netbook market for Nokia. Unusually for Nokia the operating system is Windows 7 clearly distinguishing it from its mobile series of devices which are typically Symbian or Maemo based.

The processor is a Intel® Atom™ Z530, 1.6 GHz. Also on board is 1GB Ram, a 120GB hard drive, and a 10.1” 1280×720 display and 802.11 b/g/n Wireless and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. All this will likely weigh in around 1.25 Kg.
The fascinating thing about the machine is the price, quoted on the Nokia website as £649 which puts it out of Netbook territory and into the Laptop price range (you can get a pretty good Laptop for £649) so the Booklet is going to have to be something pretty special to justify its high price tag. It does have a built-in 3G modem (for data calls only): offering WCDMA 900/2100 or 800-850/900/2100, as well as GSP and A-GSP, and comes in the box with a Nokia WH-205 headset (and cleaning cloth) but is that enough to compete?
Presumably the price will come down a great deal when purchased with a monthly 3G contract and it is currently available on pre-order for delivery in January 2010.
