This has yet to be confirmed officially but according to the Daily Mail article, Google employees road-testing its touch screen ‘iPhone-killer’, Google’s purported own mobile phone, the Nexus One, manufactured by leading mobile hardware firm HTC, may be making its way into the consumer market place soon. Running Google’s excellent Android operating system, and utilising a touch screen, the Nexus One is sure to raise more than an eyebrow as being a potential worthy challenger to Apple’s iPhone.

The Android Guys have got hold of some images taken by the Nexus One which indicate it could contain a 5 megapixel camera onboard, and the images seem pretty clear too. There are also rumours the Nexus One may run Android 2.1.

Google, which makes much of its revenue through advertising, must be eyeing up the mobile market as users migrate, in their droves, away from desk based computing and move on the road becoming increasingly reliant upon mobile technology. Google recently announced its intention to acquire AdMob, a mobile display advertising technology provider and already have a thriving gadget library to extend its services.
