Get More Screen Area For The Internet
Sunday, 13 December 2009
I haven’t written a quick tip for a while, but this one popped up when I was setting up Poisson Rouge for the kids, and I thought it was worth a mention.
A long standing, yet little known, feature in Internet Explorer is the F11 key which maximises the area for the web page you are viewing, hiding the title bar, navigation bar, and tool bars. Pressing the F11 key a second time returns everything to normal. This tip should also work in Firefox and Chrome. In Internet Explorer you can also select View, Toolbars, and remove the Status bar at the bottom of the screen for even more area.
This feature is especially useful for setting up a web site for use by children as it focuses the experience on the web page they are viewing avoiding the possibility of any possible clicking in the wrong area.
