Enhance Your Broadband Speed With A Simple Fix

It was originally called the iPlate and is now known as the BT Broadband Accelerator but, under many circumstances, this little device can make a difference to the quality of your broadband signal, but how does this work?

Long pieces of wire, such as your phone line, act as mini antenna and soak up all kind of signals that get close to them creating interference that can often hamper your signal. For example, have you ever had a really long aerial in your television and found that simply by moving the wire it can make the picture better or worse? Well, with your phone line its the same principle.

The tech savvy of you may already know there are some ways you can improve your signal but if you want an easy low cost solution (and let’s face it we could all use some extra broadband juice – right?) then the BT Broadband Accelerator may do the trick, best of all if you are an existing Total Broadband customer you may be able to get it for just the cost of postage.

It is a small housing that pops into your master socket – you simply unscrew the existing panel, pop in the housing and screw the panel back on – you can read the instructions in the user guide. There are some circumstances where you might not need or benefit from the accelerator (for example if you have a recent master socket with the Open reach logo as the accelerator is already fitted) so make sure you read the information on the site carefully.
