Whilst reading about the wait for the New Framework for Universities it got me thinking that it has been just over a year since completing formal academic studies at Uni. I have been thinking recently about picking some from of study back up – which means trawling through and studying carefully the available modules and courses online – as once I sign up I’m committed to finishing, knowledge engineering is the most likely the area of interest – are you studying at the moment?
I also picked up the CCNA study guide (CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate Study Guide: Exam 640-802 ) I was working through earlier in the year – at over 1,000 pages it is hard going, but it is worth going over material that should be already firmly entrenched in the mind as it’s surprising how much you can forget if you don’t practice particular skills regularly.
The only problem I have found with home study is the lack of the formal structure which locks you into study periods – there are always other, seemingly more interesting or more pressing, things to do.
