Online careers and recruitment services company Monster.co.uk has been hit by hackers according to their website. According to their announcement on 23 Jan 2009.
The site says it has taken corrective action, and assures customers no resume details were obtained, but Monster are urging customers to change their passwords and are warning customers about the risk of receiving unsolicited phishing emails from senders pretending to be from Monster.
“We recently learned our database was illegally accessed and certain contact and account data were taken, including Monster user IDs and passwords, email addresses, names, phone numbers, and some basic demographic data.”
