So Long… Windows 3.x

The beginning of November 2008 bought the final hammer blow down on the software that really kick started a generation, Windows 3.x, fifteen years after reaching its maturity in 1993. You might be wondering what on earth it is doing still in operation, well it was a great platform and found a real niche in embedded systems. When I think fondly back about Windows I think of Windows For Workgroups v3.11 on top of MS-DOS 6.22.
I wonder if the powers that be are thinking this might finally corner us all into installing Vista?
