Bringing Surface Computing To The … Surface?

Surface Computing is becoming quite exciting. It is, as its name suggests, a method of computing (or rather interacting) using the surface of objects – currently tables are in vogue but no doubt other objects will become popular in the not too distant future.

The video clip included here (sponsored by Microsoft of course) gives a good demonstration of surface computing, we have seen the two finger control for zooming in and out a number of times but I particularly like the water ripple effects ad the way you can not only zoom in but enter buildings and move around using a finger (or combinations of fingers).

This YouTube video also gives a good demonstration of an application of surface interaction using an interactive water wall.
