Here comes the Ecobutton

Submitted by jasonslater on October 23, 2008 – 2 Comments

My carbon footprint is improving all the time as I have bought a few Eco friendly devices over the last couple of years including a power factor reducer, energy monitor, and of course the obligatory light bulbs but I am always on the lookout for new Eco gadgets.

The Ecobutton This one gets my gadget geek going – Ecobutton Computer Standby Saver available from the folks at WindTrap.

Powered through an available USB port this low cost device brightly alerts you when your computer is not in use – a quick press of the button places the computer into standby and another press brings it out of standby.

There is also a software download available that will calculate your Eco friendliness by telling you how much money and CO2 emissions you save.

I recently found this product is also available from Amazon.
