MWSnap, by Mirek Wojtowicz, describes itself as “a small yet powerful Windows program for snapping (capturing) images from selected parts of the screen” – it doesn’t seem to have been updated for some time but I still find it useful and it has come in handy a number of times for quickly grabbing something interesting from the screen.
Some interesting features of MWSnap include:
- Support for BMP, JPG, PNG, TIFF and GIF formats
- Auto-saving and auto-printing
- Picture transformations
- List of fixed sizes for snapping images of icons and glyphs
- Ruler tool for measuring screen objects lengths
- Colour picker
