Mobile Broadband Technology

It is quite possible that the near future will bring complete wireless access and capabilities for technology users. We could be able to access mail, chat with friends and even work from anywhere and at anytime. And it is Mobile Broadband technology that is bringing us closer to this future.

Mobile broadband provides wireless Internet access to anyone with a mobile data card, USB modem, USB stick or phones with data modems as well as laptops with the ability to use Mobile Broadband built-into them (Built-In 3G Broadband laptops).

In the UK, there are three mobile broadband providers who are taking the lead. 3 Mobile, Vodafone & T-Mobile are tops in the Mobile Broadband services with Orange to follow. They provide an array of packages and price ranges to suit anyone in the market for mobile broadband.

Benefits to mobile broadband include extreme convenience and portability, no land lines (and messy cords) to access the Internet and equipment flexibility (there are several different ways to use mobile broadband technology). Currently, mobile broadbands disadvantages include limited reception and bandwidth capabilities.

But technology is constantly improving, re-inventing and breaking new grounds. As the mobile broadband industry continues to grow, so will its capabilities. Who knows where we will be in one year, 3 years and even 5 years!

  • Mobile broadband is moving at a very, very quick pace, I just noticed Three mobile are set to release a mobile broadband dongle that allows multiple devices to be connected at once, set to be out for Christmas 09.

Scary to think how advanced it will be in a few years as you say!
