Delete All Favorites in Internet Explorer

There are many ways of making the Favorites items more flexible, for example using Google Bookmarks and once Favorites are imported into the new platform you may wish to remove the old ones. Deleting them one by one can be time consuming, fortunately there are ways of deleting them all relatively quickly.

To do this click on the Start Menu, then right-click the Favorites item and select Explore.

This will show your Favorites in the familiar Explorer Window.

Check the Favorites are listed in the Explorer Window then select Edit, Select All on the menu. Double-check the Favorites are highlighted and press the Delete Key (not the Back Space key!) – you should be asked to confirm the deletion. CAUTION! Always worth checking and double-checking the correct items are highlighted before you delete them.

If Favorites does not appear on your Start Menu then right-click on the Start button and select Properties. On the Start Menu Tab click Customise then Advanced. Ensure there is a tick in the Favorites menu option into the Start Menu items section and click OK then OK again.
