The Wordpress world is buzzing at the moment with news of the impending release of Wordpress 2.5 which looks like a major overhaul for the platform - whilst as they say it “…will remain familiar to seasoned users while improving the experience for everyone.”.
There are now some teaser screen shots of the new platform over at the Wordpress Development Blog: http://wordpress.org/development/2008/03/25-sneak-peek/ and it looks like things have been heavily reorganised to make the interface cleaner and more intuitive. New features indicated in the Blog post are “…customizable dashboard, multi-file upload, built-in galleries, one-click plugin upgrades, tag management, built-in Gravatars, full text feeds, and faster load times“. After having used it for some time I have found the Wordpress platform to be very good already so it’s hard to imagine a better version but I’ll be sure to be downloading it when the release becomes publicly available.
If you really can’t wait until the general public release then you could always head over and download the Release Candidate 1 of Wordpress 2.5 and join the happy band of testers.
