Trend Micro release Message Archiver According to Techworld Data Storage News Trend Micro have released their Message Archiver product. Trend Micro describe Message Archive as having a “… fast, easy search capability and reduced storage cost, while enabling e-discovery and compliance with data retention regulations“.

Trend describe some of the key features as integration with Microsoft Exchange, advanced search and regulatory compliance and some of the interesting features seem to be the Data Guardian which can inform a compliance office whenever a search is conducted on the collected information and the plug-in for Outlook which gives users more integrated access to the archived data.

Message Archiver is supported on Windows Server™ 2003 (R2 with SP2 Standard and Enterprise Edition) and currently only supports Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.

Trend are already an essential site for me with their free online Housecall product at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/ which as they describe is “an application for checking whether your computer has been infected by viruses, spyware, or other malware“.

For many years we have been happily running GFI MailArchiver which is a very useful product for retaining old emails conducting audited (with latest version) search of mail history so it would take something remarkable to tempt us away but if you haven’t considered a Mail Archiver product yet then both GFI MailArchiver and Trend Micro Message Archiver should be worthy considerations.
