Excellent list Jason, I’ll be looking at some of these for our clients. Have Stumbled, digged and delicious this post.

Other network monitoring tools worth looking at:-
- Nagios
- NTOP attached to a Mirrored Port if in a switch network

1. Limit the usage of local network hubs, these can degrade the network performance. So plugging an old 10mb hub to give you more network points is not advisable.

2. When planning a network, double the number of network points to take into account for future equipment.

3. Network over Power – If on a limited budget and you can’t afford for the office to wired up, then Ethernet over Power might be worth considering. Typically the bandwidth will be greater than wireless.
