Corrupt text display in Acrobat and Terminal Services

Corrupt text in Acrobat and Terminal Services

acrobatI’ve mentioned this problem before but fortunately have found a work around for it.

The problem occurs whilst running Adobe Acrobat 8 under Terminal Services. By default certain PDF pages were showing black bars where text should be – in an almost redacted way.

Originally I reverted back to Acrobat 7 which fixed the problem but after playing with 8 for a while I found that by going into Edit -> Preferences -> Page Display -> and switching off Smooth Text in the Rendering group – the problem goes away.
