Thumb Phones
I’ve been looking into thumb phones recently (the ones with full little keyboards on them). This was kicked off by someone asking for a Blackberry and not realising there are so many alternatives available (especially as we don’t have BES). The device we have decided to trial is the Nokia E61i.
The one that kicked things off. The Blackberry 8800 series. Features include:
- 320×240 65k screen
- 64Mb Ram
- Bluetooth
- Wireless 802.11 (a/b/g).
The Nokia E61i. Features include:

- 60Mb Ram

- Features a 2megapixel camera
The Palm Treo 750 Smartphone. Features include:
- 240×240 display
- 65k colours
- 128MB/60MB flash memory
- Windows Mobile 5.0
- 1.2 megapixel camera
- Bluetooth (1.2)
There is of course always the Blackberry Pearl. Features include:
- 240×260 display
- 65k colours
Moving onto the Moto Q. Features include:
- 320 x 240 pixels
- 65K TFT
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- Bluetooth
Next we find the HTC S620. Features include:
- Windows Mobile 5.0
- 128 Mb Rom / 64Mb Ram
- 320×240 screen
- 65k colours
- Wi-fi 802.11 (b/g)
- Bluetooth 2.0
Now onto the Samsung i320. Features include:
- Display is 320×240 with 65k colours
- Bluetooth (1.2)
- Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0
- 1.3 megapixel
- Java MIDP 2.0
- Bluetooth 1.2
Next up there is the imate JAQ. Features include:
- 320×240 screen
- 64k colours
- Windows Mobile 5.0
- Bluetooth 1.2
- 128Mb Rom/ 64 Mb Ram
- Edit and View Microsoft Word, Excel Moble and Powerpoint Mobile
