Would you like Wi-Fi with that?

According to Computing (11th October 2007) McDonalds are from December, to offer free Wi-Fi access to all of its restaurants.

It’s not clear whether this is free free or free with purchase and there is no indication as to whether the service will be restricted but this sounds like a great step forward for free Wi-Fi access and I certainly hope that others join this trend. Personally, I love McDonalds breakfast – gimme a McBacon Roll, Sausage and Egg McMuffin and a Latte and I’m happy. Add free Wi-Fi access and I may even stay for lunch !

As I have BT Total Broadband I already get free Wi-Fi minutes at many places which is a welcome bonus – something I could only have dreamed off back when I was fighting with my 14.4K modem a few years ago.
