There are couple of Ruby blogging tools, like Mephisto (http://mephistoblog.com/) and Typo (http://www.typosphere.org/).

There are some in Python too like Pylogger (http://www.sajjadzaidi.com/pylogger/) and PyBlosxom (http://pyblosxom.sourceforge.net/).

However, WordPress is one of the most active ones, where you will see lot of updates and a strong community to help.

Thanks Jamie,

I'm building a new Ubuntu build right now which hopefully by the end of the day should have Apache/PHP/ and MySQL upon it. This at least should give me a decent platform for evaluating the possiblities. That said, everything I've read so far seems to point to Wordpress.

Jas.

Jason, its got to WordPress.

It has a feature that allows you import blogs from other platforms. Many moons ago Terinea Weblog started on blogger when I didn't know any better. If you need any help with PHP/MySQL I can give you a hand. What my techie guys don't know about PHP etc isn't worth knowing. WordPress is very simple to install. It has lots of pluggins that will help you increase your readership base.

I was meaning to write something on your post the other day, but I've been so busy this week, just not had time. Maybe tonight I will.

Jamie
