How to exend power and data to the desktop and make your users happier

Submitted by jasonslater on Tuesday, 21 August 2007No Comment

Some time ago i write (In Search Of…) about searching for devices to extend power and data to the desktop - at the time I knew very little about them and said:

They are devices a little like trailing sockets but they are designed in a wedge
form factor to sit on a desk surface and contain a socket, lan socket (and
sometimes a retractable lan cable), and sometimes a phone socket.

I have since found the devices in question, and they are from Powerlogic - the Optima Series. They have a modular nature and components can be clipped into place.

Having these devices in place means that users don’t have to scrabble about on the floor trying to find power and data sockets to connect to - and also means that none of your important kit gets plugged out when a field based employee needs power or data.
