Low-Carb Reloaded
Off the low-carb wagon again, and for over a week this time so I’ve decided to reset the counter and go back to Day 1 again, hopefully this time round I can make it to day 48 again without going too astray. It’s frustrating how my mind plays games with my eating habits - if I cut out sugar altogether (the best you can these days) then I’m ok and don’t get the cravings. But give me one ‘hit’ and it quickly turns into another then another and if a day has gone by then that’s it.
We were supposed to get weighed in yesterday but we didn’t - at least we didn’t go crazy but the result is that at this moment I have no point of reference so this Sunday is going to be the truth teller - I have to get and keep focused so another week doesn’t go by off the wagon.
What I need is inspiration - I need to reprogram my mind and get those treats out of my head and focus on the job at hand. I’ll confess having two pot noodles this week - I mean - pot noodles for heavens sake (I do like a pot noodle - no stop it!) and a KFC - oh and a number of Magners Cider and biscuits, and toast, and chips and cripts - the list is embarassingly endless but I have to reel myself in, draw the line and say NO - I just wonder what’s for tea!?
For my last low-carb post: Day 48 Low-Carb.

Glad to see you’re posting about low carb again!
Initially we all seem to have trouble sticking with our plan. Personally I think it’s all the “experts” telling us we shouldn’t be deprived, just have a little, etc. That to a carb addict, someone with insulin resistance, diabetes, etc is like telling an alcoholic one little drink won’t hurt!!
I’ve had my binges, believe me! Don’t be embarrassed about yours! The best thing to do, in my opinion, is fess up and give it another try. You’ve fessed up, so put it behind you. Now give it another try!!
For me, sticking with my plan (which is Protein Power) makes it easier to stick with my plan. It sounds weird, but you do knwo what I mean….you said it in your post: “I cut out sugar altogether (the best you can these days) then I’m ok and don’t get the cravings. But give me one ‘hit’ and it quickly turns into another then another and if a day has gone by then that’s it.” You’ve got to stop taking that one little treat!! That’s the key!
Are you involved in any of the support groups? Sometimes these groups help, especially when you don’t have the support around you at home!!
Good luck, keep on trying, and keep on posting!
