Cobol

We must Microfocus Cobol in our organisation. We moved from originally ACE cobol to RM/COBOL then Microfocus OCDS (Object Cobol Development System) and recently to Server Express. Cobol is used for the development of our in-house ERP which two of us develop and maintain on two RS/6000 AIX machines.
At present our ERP is what is known as a legacy system. It is text based using C-ISAM file structures and is accessed using a terminal emulation package (at least we have colour through the use of AT386 emulation). We have looked at AcuCobol as a potential migration from our platform as we get more interested in technologies like a database back-end and windows like functionality. I’ve also been tempted to try a migration to C# but with almost two thousand programs and over a million lines of code it would be quite an undertaking and not something that could be done piecemeal unfortunately.
