Birthday memories with USB memory sticks

I do like a gadget and I am building a nice collection of Universal Serial Bus (USB) memory sticks whose contents, in some strange way, are starting to document my life.

They start off at 32MB, then 64MB, a couple of 128MB (a nice one from MicroFocus), a nice 256MB given at an Orange Seminar, then straight up to 1GB, a GB my better half got me for Christmas one year, now my brother has bought me an 8GB super Flash Drive for my birthday this year. All of these drives have got files and pictures of mine at various points in my life over the last few years – I wonder what someone will make of them in years to come? They will probably balk at the insignificant amount of storage space and the ridiculous need to actually plug them into a slot to make them work. One can only wonder?

Flicking through DABS earlier, and what did I see – a 16Gb USB drive though the price was quite high – maybe an idea for next year – or will we be talking 32GB (or more) by then?
